Description
Oat variety Desnyansky was created by individual selection from a hybrid population obtained by crossing varieties Astor and Los-3. This variety was included in the State Register of Plant Varieties of Ukraine since 1998 and is intended for cultivation in the forest-steppe and Polissia zones. Desnyansky oat belongs to the mutica variety, has a semi-erect awn of 18-22 cm in length with lateral branches diverging upward at an acute angle from the stem. Spikelet bracts of medium length and width, almost without awns. Grain is white, well-filled, large with a blunt tip, 100-seed mass is 34-41 g. Protein content in the grain ranges from 12.1-12.4 %.
The variety is medium-maturing, plant height reaches 90-110 cm. It is characterized by resistance to diseases such as rust, crown rust, and stem rust. In addition, Desnyansky oat exhibits good resistance to lodging (4.5-4.9 points), shattering (4.8-4.9 points), and drought (4.4-4.6 points), making it a reliable choice for various climatic conditions. Yield of the variety ranges from 55.0 to 60.6 centners per hectare, indicating its high productivity.
