Description
The MARSHAL® spring oat variety is a highly productive medium-maturing variety developed for cultivation in various climatic conditions, particularly in the Far East region of Russia. The plant is tall, with an upright-erect bush and a two-sided panicle with semi-elevated branch arrangement. The spikelets are drooping, with short spikelet scales covered in moderate to strong waxy bloom, giving the grain a characteristic appearance. The vegetative period is 78-90 days; the variety matures slightly later compared to other standard varieties such as Korifei and Express. MARSHAL® belongs to the mutica type and is characterized by moderate drought resistance, allowing it to successfully adapt to the conditions of the Khabarovsk Krai and other Far East territories. The average yield in the region reaches 36.4 centners per hectare, while maximum yield indicators can reach 59.7 c/ha, recorded in the Primorsky Krai. The weight of 1000 grains varies from 34 to 41 grams; the grain is large, with protein content of about 12%, and grain natural weight is 415-490 g/l, making the variety suitable for grain-forage use. Despite high productivity, the MARSHAL® variety is susceptible to certain diseases such as powdery and hard smut, as well as strong susceptibility to crown rust. Nevertheless, the variety is distinguished by good resistance to lodging, which increases its reliability in agricultural conditions. Low fertilizer requirements and adaptability to climatic conditions make MARSHAL® an attractive choice for farmers seeking a stable and quality oat harvest.
