Description
MEZMAI is a variety of wintering oats (Avena sativa L.) intended for grain production. It belongs to medium- to late-maturing varieties, characterized by high winter hardiness and lodging resistance, ensuring reliable cultivation in the North Caucasus region conditions. The plants have a sprawling habit, short stems about 96 cm tall, and leaf blades that are densely hairy with a weak waxy bloom and dark green coloration. The panicle is semi-closed, two-sided, yellow-green, very long—about 24.4 cm, with drooping spikelet arrangement. The grain is small, 18 mm long, gray with white veins, and the floral awn is equipped with an awn. The mass of 1000 grains ranges from 28 to 31 grams, while grain naturalness varies from 462 to 511 g/L with hull coverage of 28.1%. Grain yield under production conditions reaches 41.3–45.2 c/ha, while green mass yield reaches up to 216 c/ha. The variety is resistant to diseases such as bacterial leaf spot, crown rust, and stem rust, which enhances its reliability and reduces crop loss risks. MEZMAI was included in the State Register of Varieties for the North Caucasus region and has been a standard in the State Testing System since 2003. The breeder is FGBNU 'Adygeian Research Institute of Agriculture'. Due to its characteristics and adaptation to the region's climatic conditions, this oat variety is widely used in agriculture for obtaining high-quality grain and green mass.

Overall bulb harvest per unit area. Depends on both onion variety characteristics and agronomic practices, fertilizers, and irrigation. Under optimal growing conditions, an onion yield of 100 tons per hectare and above is not considered record-breaking. |
