Description
Spring barley variety Prokop is a high-quality agricultural product developed by Saatbau. This variety is characterized by yellow grain color and high thousand-grain weight — from 35 to 40 grams. Grain density ranges between 580-650 g/l, indicating the density and quality of the seed material. Prokop belongs to the early-maturing group with good resistance to diseases, including powdery mildew, yellow rust, and septoria, as well as high resistance to lodging and drought, tolerating temperatures down to -8°С. The yield potential of Prokop variety is 60-65 centners per hectare, making it attractive for cultivation in the forest-steppe zone. Plants reach a height of 70-80 cm, which ensures optimal conditions for grain formation. The recommended seeding rate is 3.2-3.6 million germinating seeds per hectare, promoting uniform and effective crop growth. Protein content in the grain ranges from 12.1-14.9%, making this barley valuable for both feed and food purposes. Prokop variety exhibits good cold resistance and has a hull content of about 27%, which affects the grain's technological properties during processing. Thanks to its balanced characteristics and high adaptability to various climatic conditions, this barley is widely used in agriculture to achieve stable and high-quality yields. Its use contributes to increased production efficiency and improved quality of the final product.
