DMITRICH

The onion variety Dmitrich was bred based on the Dmitriev population and was named after the village of Dmitrievka, famous for its rich markets and onion-growing traditions. This medium-maturing variety is recommended for cultivation as a bulb onion in both single-year culture from seeds and two-year culture from sets in personal subsidiary holdings. The bulb has a transverse-elliptical shape and weighs from 55 to 70 grams. The dry scales are brown in color, numbering 2-3, while the fleshy scales are white with a greenish tint. The bulb neck is of medium thickness, with two to three buds, and the taste is characterized as semi-sharp.

The Dmitrich variety is distinguished by high marketable yield, ranging from 162 to 177 centners per hectare, with maximum yield indicators reaching 270 centners per hectare in the Khabarovsk region. Bulb maturity before harvest reaches 76%, and after maturation – 90%, indicating good suitability for storage. Additionally, the variety has resistance to downy mildew, enhancing its reliability under various growing conditions.

Dmitrich is included in the State Register of Breeding Achievements for the Far Eastern region and is recommended for cultivation in this area. Thanks to its agronomic qualities, high yield, good taste, and ability to store for a long time, this variety is an excellent choice for farmers and gardeners seeking a quality and stable onion crop.
