Manas F1 onion is a medium-early, high-yielding short-day hybrid developed by breeders of Bejo Zaden from the Netherlands. The maturation period is approximately 110-115 days from emergence of seedlings. This hybrid is intended for cultivation in temperate and arid climates, successfully adapts to various soil types, including dry conditions. Thanks to its well-developed root system, the plant efficiently absorbs nutrients from the soil, providing resistance to drought, sharp temperature fluctuations, and diseases such as downy mildew, root rot, and fusarium. The yield potential is approximately 50 tons per hectare, and with irrigation, it can reach up to 90 tons per hectare. Manas F1 bulbs have a round, uniform shape and are covered with a dense bronze scale, which reliably protects them during transport and storage without shedding. The average weight of bulbs ranges from 80 to 150 grams, with a diameter of 4-5 cm. The inner scales are snow-white, juicy, and tender, with a moderately sweet flavor and mild pungency. The flesh is semi-pungent, crisp, and non-bitter. The onion contains a significant amount of essential oils, phytoncides, and other beneficial substances, making it valuable both for fresh consumption and processing. The hybrid features high bulb density and excellent retention of upper scales, contributing to long-term storage up to 10 months. Manas F1 is suitable for both seedling and direct sowing methods, including sowing seeds directly into open ground. The recommended seeding rate is approximately 1 million seeds per hectare, with a seed consumption of 4-8 grams per square meter. Planting should be done at a spacing of 1x10 cm, to a depth of about 3 cm. The hybrid is ideal for mechanized harvesting and is characterized by high commercial uniformity and attractive appearance.
