Elenka F1 is a stress-resistant late hybrid of semi-sharp onion, developed by the Italian seed company Cora Seeds. The vegetation period is approximately 120-125 days from emergence, making it a medium-late variety suitable for long-term storage. The plant has a strong root system and significant leaf mass, providing high resistance to adverse growing conditions, including drought and other stress factors. Additionally, the variety shows field tolerance to diseases such as downy mildew and root rot. Elenka F1 bulbs are characterized by their round shape, uniformity, and density. They have a rich dark brown color and are covered with four very thick protective scales, which contribute to minimal losses during harvest, packaging, and storage. The bulbs have a snowy-white, dense, crisp, and juicy core with a semi-sharp flavor, moderate sweetness, and rich aroma. Bulb size ranges from medium to medium-large, making them convenient for mechanical harvesting and transportation. Due to its strong root system, Elenka F1 allows reducing nitrogen fertilizer rates by 25-30%, making it economically advantageous to grow.
