EURIKA

The onion of the 'EURIKA' variety belongs to the late varieties, maturing 140-150 days after sowing. The bulbs of this variety have a rhomboid or round shape, are distinguished by their large size and dense structure; the weight of one bulb ranges from 150 to 200 grams. The outer dry scales are shiny and golden-brown, while the inner fleshy scales are white, hard, and have a slightly sharp taste. A thin neck and tight adherence of the scales ensure excellent storage quality and allow storing the onion for a long time — from 6 to 8 months.

For growing the 'EURIKA' variety, it is recommended to choose sunny areas with well-structured soil rich in humus and nutrients, with a pH level from 6.5 to 7.0. Sowing seeds can be done directly in the ground from March to April, when the soil has warmed up enough and dried out after winter. To obtain large and high-quality bulbs, growing via seedlings is possible. The variety is distinguished by a strong root system, resistance to bacterial rots and adverse weather conditions, which makes it suitable for large-scale production.
