Description
Goliath bulbs have an oval-shaped form, large and dense, with a weight ranging from 150 to 250 g, sometimes reaching 400 g. The bulb diameter is 85-95 mm. The outer scales are a rich golden-bronze color, while the flesh is white, juicy, and has a pleasant spicy flavor. The variety is characterized by high storability — over 7 months, during which the onion retains quality until spring and is resistant to rot. Due to its attractive appearance and high yield, Goliath is in high demand on the vegetable market.
The variety is low-maintenance, has a strong root system, and is resistant to diseases, particularly downy mildew. For successful cultivation, seeds should be sown no deeper than 0.5 cm, timely hilling, and application of complex mineral fertilizers are recommended. Goliath prefers fertile soils with good moisture and is suitable for planting in spring, summer, and autumn depending on the region. Its bulbs are widely used for making fresh salads, processing, and preservation.
