Hairy Sanya is a mid-season shallot variety intended for cultivation in a two-year system from sets. This variety is characterized by a vegetative period from regrowth to leaf lodging of about 58-60 days. The plant leaves are large, rhomboid-shaped, rich green in color with high color intensity and a medium degree of waxy coating. Bulbs have a wide-elliptical shape with red dry skins and lilac juicy skins, with a single bulb mass of about 74 grams. 5 to 9 bulbs form in one bud, each with 7-9 primordia. The taste of the onion is semi-pungent, making it versatile for various culinary purposes.
The variety is distinguished by high yield — up to 2.44 kg per square meter, and bulb ripeness reaches 95% before harvesting and 100% after after-ripening. The plant possesses strong leafiness and resistance to flowering, which ensures stable fruiting and prolonged vegetation. The mass of one plant can reach 150 grams, indicating its good development and productivity.
