Description
This variety is characterized by high storability and excellent transportability, thanks to which the onion retains its qualities until spring. Romi Onion does not bolt, which makes it convenient for cultivation and storage. The flavor of the onion is moderately semi-sharp, which allows it to be used for various culinary purposes: for preparing salads, thermally processed dishes, as well as for homemade winter preserves. The variety is recommended for cultivation from sets, optimally in a two-year culture.
Romi onion plants reach a height of 50-60 cm and possess frost resistance, which ensures a stable harvest even in unfavorable climatic conditions. For planting, it is recommended to use sets of 8-16 mm in size, with a planting depth of about 5 cm and a distance between plants of 15 cm. Onions prefer moderately moist soil and regular, but not excessive watering. The planting period falls in the spring months, and flowering occurs in July.
