Description
This variety is characterized by high yield — up to 3.4 kg per square meter. Leek Victor is recommended for use fresh, as well as for home cooking and canning. A feature of the variety is the increase in vitamin C content during storage, which enhances its nutritional value and useful properties. The culture is cold-hardy, which allows leaving the plants in the ground until spring if covered from frost.
Growing leek Victor in a temperate climate is done using the seedling method. Seeds are sown in individual pots in March, 65-75 days before transplanting into open ground. Before planting, the seedlings are hardened, and roots and leaves are shortened by a third for better establishment. During growth, plants are hilled up to form a powerful blanched false stem. The recommended planting scheme is 10x50 cm. Simple agrotechnical measures ensure high quality and market characteristics of the harvest.
