The Grouse shallot is a mid-season variety with single-germ, round bulbs weighing 120-125 grams. Its golden dry scales and juicy white flesh have a semi-spicy taste, making this onion versatile for fresh consumption, culinary processing, and preservation. The variety is characterized by high yield — up to 4-5 kg per square meter, as well as stable storage and excellent ripening after maturation.

The Grouse is distinguished by its high cold and winter hardiness, allowing successful cultivation under daily temperature and humidity fluctuations. The onion is neutral to day length, resistant to bolting, and tolerates winter planting well, as confirmed by cultivation observations. For planting, it is recommended to use healthy, clean bulbs with well-developed necks and dry golden scales, collected on clear sunny days and thoroughly dried with treatment against fungal and bacterial infections.

For winter planting, bulbs are planted at a depth of about 10 cm and covered with rotted straw or pine needles if necessary to protect from adverse weather conditions. Thanks to such measures and the natural qualities of the variety, the Grouse onion develops well in spring and forms large, quality bulbs. This variety is ideal for growing in various climatic conditions, providing a stable and quality yield that retains its taste and commercial qualities throughout the winter period.
