Description
KRASNODARSKAYA 20 is a perennial grass plant of the grass family, known by the scientific name Dactylis glomerata. The plant is characterized by tall, well-leafy stems about 100 cm high and a large number of soft, long basal leaves, making it attractive for both agricultural and decorative purposes.
Its beautiful shape and resistance to sparse conditions make KRASNODARSKAYA 20 popular in forest-steppe, steppe, and mountainous regions. The plant prefers fertile, loose soils with high nitrogen content, but is sensitive to excessive moisture, so it is best grown on well-drained areas.
The forage value of the plant is high: at the flowering stage, 100 kg of green mass contains about 22.7 feed units and 2.1 kg of digestible protein; in hay, the indicators reach 55.0 and 4.5 kg respectively. Due to rapid recovery after mowing or grazing, KRASNODARSKAYA 20 ensures a stable hay yield – up to 60–70 cwt of good hay per hectare with two cuts.
For cultivation, it is recommended to sow in grass mixtures at a rate of 5–8 kg/ha (up to 10 kg in mountainous areas) and in pure sowing – 18–20 kg/ha. When seeding in continuous sowing, the rate is 14 kg, and in wide-row sowing – 8 kg. The plant reaches full development by the third year and can maintain productivity in the grassland for over 5–6 years.
