Description
The common pea variety Shustrik is an early-maturing leafless variety with a vegetation period ranging from 56 to 93 days. The plants are low-growing, standing 40 to 65 cm tall, with high resistance to lodging. The flowers are white, pods are straight with blunt tips, and contain 3-4 seeds. The seeds are spherical, smooth, with yellow cotyledons and a closed hilum; 1000-seed mass ranges from 201 to 252 grams. Protein content in the grain varies from 22.3% to 26.2%, making this variety valuable for obtaining a high-quality crop.
The Shustrik variety was included in the State Register of Breeding Achievements of Russia and recommended for cultivation in the Central and Northwestern regions, including the Vologda and Kaluga regions. It is distinguished by early maturing, advancing 4-6 days compared to standard varieties, which allows for earlier harvest. Average yield in the Northwestern region is about 13.4 c/ha, and in the Central region reaches 20.3 c/ha, with maximum indicators up to 4.3 t/ha under favorable conditions.
Despite high yield and adaptability, the Shustrik variety has high susceptibility to diseases such as anthracnose, ascochytosis, and root rots, which requires careful care and preventive measures during cultivation. Seeds are intended for sowing and are produced by Agroset GAVRISH, LLC.
