Description
This summer variety was obtained at the I. V. Michurin Institute of Fruit and Vegetable Crops named after S. P. Yakovlev, Y. K. Ilin, and S. S. Yakovleva from open pollination of the Autumn Yakovleva variety. It has been registered in the Central Chernozem region since 2002.
Medium-sized, fast-growing tree with a slightly drooping crown. The main branches have strong unions. Fruit-bearing type is mixed.
Shoots are light brown, slightly wavy, medium thickness, with few buds. Leaves are medium-sized, oriented upward, pointed tip, acute base, serrated edge, weakly curved, medium-length petioles, awl-shaped stipules.
Fruits are medium-sized, weighing 100–140 g, elongated pear-shaped. Skin is tender and smooth. Color at harvest: greenish base, pinkish-red blush like light sunburn; at consumer maturity: green-yellow base, pink blush on a smaller portion of the fruit. Peduncle is long, curved, oblique. Blossom cup is small, half-open, non-falling, very small receptacle. Seed cavity is medium, oval, seed chambers closed, seeds elongated, brown.
Flesh is white, tender, medium density, fine-grained, very juicy, without bitterness or granulation, sweet taste. Sensory rating 4.5 points.
Fruits contain 15.1% dry solids, 8.5% sugars, 0.59% titratable acids, 7.9 mg/100g ascorbic acid, 48.0 mg/100g P-active substances.
This variety begins fruiting in the 5th–6th year. High yield. Harvest maturity occurs in the first decade of August, consumer period lasts 15 days.
The variety has relatively high winter hardiness. After artificial freezing in mid-winter at -38°C, tissue damage to one-year-old branches did not exceed 1.5 points. It has high resistance to sharp temperature fluctuations after thawing, as well as to late spring frosts affecting blossoms. Resistant to fungal diseases.
Advantages of the variety: convenient crown, good fruit flavor.
Disadvantages of the variety: short consumer period.
