Description
Early winter variety developed at the Ukrainian Research Institute of Irrigated Horticulture by G. I. Kulikov, I. N. Esaulova, and I. N. Maximova from seed collections. The variety was officially approved for the North Caucasus region.
Medium-sized tree, forming a broad pyramidal, moderately dense crown. Fruits mainly ripen on spurs. Leaves are oval-rounded, slightly folded along the central vein.
Characterized by relatively late start of vegetation and flowering.
Fruits are above average size (mass 200 g), broadly rounded-pear-shaped, ribbed, single-ribbed. Skin of medium thickness, smooth, matte. During harvest maturity, yellow-green; ripening yellow with a faint orange-red blush on the sun-exposed side. Peduncle long and curved. No calyx. Basin small, ribbed, with a large calyx.
Flesh is creamy-white, juicy, sweet, aromatic, excellent taste. Under Kuban conditions, fruits contain 15.8% dry matter, 8.8% sugars, 0.15% titratable acids, and 4.4 mg/100 g of ascorbic acid in raw matter.
Harvest maturity occurs in mid-September. Storage life until December.
Fruits remain firmly attached to the tree. Good transportability.
Partially self-fertile. Begins fruiting in the 6th-7th year. High yield. The variety exhibits relatively high winter hardiness, drought and heat tolerance, and resistance to scab.
Advantages of the variety: high winter and drought resistance of trees, annual and abundant fruiting, good transportability, storage life, and flavor qualities of fruits.
Disadvantages of the variety: under heavy fruit load, fruits become smaller.
