Rovesnitsa

The Rovesnitsa pear is a summer early-fruiting variety of Russian breeding, obtained by crossing the Tinkovetka and Cure varieties. Trees of this variety are of medium growth strength and size, which ensures convenience in care and harvesting. The fruits are of medium size, usually from 85 to 130 grams, pear-shaped with a smooth and shiny skin of golden-yellow color, decorated with a blurred or weakly expressed orange blush. The flesh is of medium density, juicy, cream-colored, with a sour-sweet taste, which makes them attractive to consumers.

The variety is characterized by high resistance to scab, which significantly reduces the need for frequent treatments and increases the eco-friendliness of cultivation. In addition, the Rovesnitsa pear has winter hardiness, withstanding temperatures of up to -40°C, which allows it to be successfully grown in the middle belt of Russia and the Central region. The yield from one tree reaches about 75 kg, which is a good indicator for this type of fruit crop.

The fruits ripen in the second or third decade of August, however, it is recommended to remove them in a green state and ripen them in the refrigerator, which improves taste qualities and extends the storage period. The storage life of the fruits is from 1.5 to 2 months under proper storage conditions. The variety is partially self-fruitful, which requires the presence of pollinators for stable fruiting. Resistance to pests and other diseases is at the level of standard varieties, including protection against rust, powdery mildew, spot, as well as against pests such as aphids, pear mite, blossom beetle, and codling moth.
