Description
Early autumn variety developed at the Sverdlovsk Selection Station for Horticulture by L. A. Kotov and G. N. Tarasova from a crossbreeding in 1974 of the varieties Toma Ch Rannaya Mlievskaya. In 2004, it was included in the State Register of Selection Achievements of the Russian Federation for the Volga-Vyatka region and is rapidly spreading in the Chelyabinsk and Kurgan regions (especially in the Sverdlovsk region).
Trees are medium-sized, fast-growing, with compact, medium-density, round crowns that, over time, under the influence of fruit weight, take on a somewhat spreading form. Leafiness is dense. Bark color on the trunk and main branches is yellowish-gray. Main branches in young age occupy a sloping-vertical position. Fruit formations — spurs, fruiting twigs, and complex rings.
Sun-exposed shoots are yellowish-brown, more often dark olive, unpubescent, with small, inconspicuous, sparsely distributed stipules, small, wedge-shaped, moderately deviated buds. Leaves are curved downward, elongated, elliptical in shape, dark green, glossy, nearly smooth-edged, leathery, medium thickness, without pubescence, with medium-length petioles. Inflorescence — corymb, with a large number of flowers.
Fruits on non-irrigated plots are medium-sized, weighing 115 g (maximum 140 g), one-dimensional, broad pear-shaped, equilateral, slightly ribbed, with smooth surface. Main color is golden-yellow, covering part of the fruit is of medium intensity, blurred, orange. No browning. Skin is thin, seed cavity is medium-sized. Fruit stalk is fairly thick, medium length. Receptacle is very small, calyx is half-open, subcalyx tube is small, usually cup-shaped.
Flesh is cream-colored, medium density, fine-grained, tender, without stone cells, very good sweet taste (4.3-4.5 points).
Fruits are very attractive.
Fruits contain arbutin, soluble dry matter — 11.6%, sugars — 9.28%, titratable acids — 0.45%, P-active catechins — 278.1 mg/100g flesh, ascorbic acid — 3.5 mg/100g flesh, sugar-acid ratio — 20.6.
Harvesting period — from August 28 to September 12; consumption period in Yekaterinburg's early autumn — from August 28 to October 1. Fruits do not drop off when ripe.
The variety enters fruiting on the 5th-6th year after grafting.
