Description
The fruits of Angelino are large, weighing from 90 to 150 grams, dark-purple in color and round in shape. They have an attractive appearance, sweet-tart flavor, and easily detachable stone. The plum is highly marketable and transportable, making it popular for both fresh consumption and processing. The fruits are suitable for drying, freezing, making compotes, jams, and wine. The harvest period falls in the second decade of September and continues until the end of the month, while the fruit can be consumed from October to March due to high storability and the ability to be stored for up to 5 months in a refrigerator.
For successful cultivation of this variety, it is recommended to plant trees in sunny areas with sandy loam or clay loam soil, following a planting scheme of 4×2 meters. Regular watering, mulching the root zone, and fertilization, especially starting from the second year after planting, are essential. Suitable pollinators include the varieties 'Puteshestvennitsa', 'Black Amber', 'Friar', and 'Santa Rosa', which contribute to stable and high yields. Thus, Angelino plum is an excellent choice for gardeners who value large fruit size, high fruit quality, and long storage life.
