Description
Plum Topend Plus — a late-ripening variety from German breeding, among the TOP-10 elite plum varieties in Germany. This variety was obtained by crossing the varieties Chachanskaia Nayboliya and Valor. The tree is characterized by strong growth, high yield, and complete resistance to diseases and self-fertility, which simplifies its cultivation and increases fruiting reliability.
The fruits of the Topend Plus variety are large, medium in weight around 65 grams, with dark garnet coloring and a waxy coating. The flesh is greenish-yellow, dense, and juicy, with an excellent taste due to high sugar content (more than 20% on the Brix scale) and optimal fruit acid ratio (about 9.5%). The pits are small and easily separate from the flesh, making them convenient for consumption and processing.
The harvest period falls in the second half of September and sometimes at the beginning of October. Ripe fruits hold well on the tree, do not drop, and can be stored fresh for 4-6 weeks, ensuring high transportability and long-term storage potential. For successful cultivation, select sunny locations protected from drafts and cold winds, with light, loose soils rich in organic matter and neutral to slightly alkaline reaction (pH 6.5–7.5). The variety does not tolerate low-lying areas with waterlogging from rain or meltwater.
