Description
The potato variety Alexeyevsky is a medium-early table variety intended for cultivation in the Volga and Ural regions. The plant is tall, intermediate type, semi-erect, with medium-sized, open, dark green leaves. The flower is medium-sized with intense anthocyanin coloration on the inner side. Tubers are oval-round with small eyes, partially red skin, and creamy flesh. The weight of marketable tubers ranges from 92 to 178 grams, and starch content is 15.4 to 18.8%.
The variety is characterized by high market yield, ranging from 213 to 332 centners per hectare, which is 50–75 centners higher than the standards of varieties Aspia and Lugovskaya. Maximum yield reaches 347 centners per hectare, exceeding the standard of Lugovskaya in the Kurgan region by 102 centners. Tubers' marketability ranges from 76 to 97%, and storability reaches 93%. The number of tubers per plant ranges from 7 to 13. Taste qualities are rated as good to excellent, culinary type CD, making the variety universal for baking, frying, and making mashed potatoes.
Alexeyevsky potato is resistant to potato cancer pathogen (pathotype I), but susceptible to golden potato cyst nematode. According to the VNIIF Phytopathology data, the variety is moderately susceptible to late blight on both foliage and tubers. Standard agronomic practices are recommended for cultivation, ensuring stable high yields and excellent product quality.
