The plant is tall, intermediate type, semi-erect with large green leaves and medium leaf margin waviness. Tubers are oval-shaped with very small eyes, light beige skin, and creamy flesh. Marketable tuber mass ranges from 98 to 125 grams, and starch content varies between 13.8-15.4%. The number of tubers per plant reaches 6-11, contributing to high yield.

The yield of variety Kaluzhsky is at the level of 170-300 centners per hectare, with maximum yields reaching 388 centners per hectare, significantly exceeding the standards of many other varieties. The first harvest can be taken as early as 45 days after emergence, when yield reaches 70-185 centners per hectare, and the second harvest at 55 days ensures yield of 116-382 centners per hectare. Tubers' marketability is 79-98%, and storability reaches 94%, ensuring good storage and product preservation.

The variety is characterized by good and excellent taste, belongs to culinary type BC, making it versatile for frying, baking, and boiling. Kaluzhsky potato is resistant to potato cancer pathogen and has moderate resistance to foliage and tuber late blight. However, the variety is susceptible to golden potato cyst nematode, which should be considered during cultivation.
