Description
Krepysh Potato — this is an early table variety, developed by Russian breeders in the early 2000s and included in the state register in 2005. The plant is of medium or tall height with a semi-erect form, medium-sized leaves with wavy edges and color ranging from green to dark green. The flower is large, red-purple. The maturation period is 60-70 days, allowing for an early harvest.
The tubers are oval, with smooth yellow skin and creamy flesh. The average weight of marketable tubers ranges from 78 to 105 grams. The starch content is within 10.0–12.1%, making this potato suitable for both table use and processing into dry potato products. The taste of the tubers is good, and the marketability reaches 86–99%, indicating high product quality. The storage capacity of the variety is 97%, ensuring long-term storage without significant losses.
The Krepysh variety is characterized by high yield — from 127 to 242 centners per hectare, with maximum yields reaching 276 centners. The yield is also high during early harvest stages, which is advantageous for obtaining early products. The potato is resistant to diseases such as potato blight and golden potato cyst nematode, and has moderate resistance to late blight. Due to these characteristics and its universal use, the variety is widely used in various regions of Russia and valued for its stable and high-quality harvest.
