The «Posvit» potato variety is the result of long-term breeding work by the Polissya Research Station named after O.M. Zasukhin. With a growing season of 75–85 days, «Posvit» belongs to the category of varieties optimal for both long-term storage and late-season market sales.

Agronomic potential and characteristics

Visually, «Posvit» tubers are easily recognized by their classic round shape and light yellow (almost white) skin. The flesh is also white, a quality traditionally highly valued by consumers in the domestic market. The average weight of a tuber ranges from 50 to 130 grams, making it convenient for both packaging and culinary processing.

Protection and Immunity

A key feature of the Polissya Research Station's breeding program is its focus on the phytosanitary resistance of the genetic material. «Posvit» demonstrates high resistance to key pathogens that threaten potato farming in the Polissya and Forest-Steppe zones:

• Potato cancer and late blight: The variety possesses genetically encoded protection, which reduces the need for intensive fungicide treatments.
• Common scab and macrosporiosis: High resistance to these diseases ensures an excellent marketable appearance of the crop, minimizing the percentage of culls during sorting.
