Promin

The 'Promin' potato variety was developed by the Institute of Potato Breeding of NAAN of Ukraine and registered in 2006. It is a late-maturing variety with a vegetation period of 115-125 days, intended for cultivation in forest-steppe and steppe zones. The tubers are large, round, with red skin and a purple tint, averaging about 115 grams. The starch content in the tubers is 14.0-16.3%, classifying the variety as high-starch and suitable for various culinary purposes.

'Promin' exhibits good resistance to major potato diseases such as late blight, phytophthora, and golden potato cyst nematode, ensuring high yield and product quality. The potential yield of this variety reaches 32.7 tons per hectare, and its storage capacity is 88%, allowing the tubers to be stored for a long time without loss of market and flavor qualities.

The variety is versatile in application and well-adapted to different growing conditions, making it popular among gardeners and agricultural producers in Ukraine. Due to its high starch content and dense flesh structure, 'Promin' potato is suitable for preparing various dishes, including baking, stewing, and mashing, corresponding to the culinary types of high-starch potatoes.
