RED SCARLET

Red Scarlet — an early variety of table potato of Dutch selection, widely recognized for its high quality and versatility. The vegetation period is 70-80 days, allowing for early harvest. The plants of this variety are low, reaching 60-70 cm in height, with dense stems and dark green leaves. Under each plant, 11 to 20 elongated oval tubers form, with smooth red skin and light-yellow flesh that does not change color upon thermal processing. The average weight of tubers ranges from 80 to 120 grams. The potato is distinguished by excellent market appearance and high yield, reaching up to 277 centners per hectare by the end of the vegetation period.

The Red Scarlet variety is characterized by high resistance to a number of common diseases, including potato blight, golden and pale nematodes, viruses PVYn and PVYntn, mosaic virus, common scab, and late blight. Resistance to foliage late blight is medium. Additionally, the variety shows high drought tolerance and stress resistance, tolerates sharp temperature fluctuations well, and is suitable for mechanical harvesting, making it attractive for both hobbyists and professional farmers.

Red Scarlet potato is valued for its excellent taste and versatility in cooking — tubers do not break down during cooking, are easy to peel, and do not darken when cut. Due to its high storability and resistance to mechanical damage, the harvest can be stored until late spring, ensuring a steady supply of quality product over a long period.
