Diplotaxis tenuifolia, also known as rocket or wild arugula, is an undemanding perennial plant reaching about 40 cm in height with a branching stem. The leaves are oblong and deeply dissected, featuring a mustard-nutty aroma and taste, which are more pronounced than those of Indau arugula. The plant sprouts quickly: seedlings appear within 5–7 days after sowing, and reach a height of 20–22 cm within 20–25 days.

Diplotaxis tenuifolia is widely used in cuisine as a side dish for meat and fish, for preparing salads, sandwiches, pizza, pasta, and baked goods. Young leaves add a fresh aroma and slight spiciness, flowers can serve as a spice, and seeds are used in the production of mustard and oil.

From an agronomic perspective, the plant is easy to grow in open ground: sowing is carried out from mid-April at a depth of 0.5 cm. The optimal temperature regime for intensive growth is +16–18 °C, and the plant requires good lighting and light neutral soil without excess organic matter. With proper care, 1 to 1.5 kg of greens can be harvested per square meter from May to October. Regular removal of flower stalks promotes denser leaf growth and increases yield.

The nutrient profile of Diplotaxis tenuifolia is rich in vitamins (A, B group, PP, C, E), carotene, macronutrients (potassium, calcium, magnesium, sodium, phosphorus), and micronutrients (iron, manganese, copper, selenium, zinc, iodine). Consuming fresh greens increases hemoglobin levels in the blood and aids in removing 'bad' cholesterol.
