Description
The NF 137 strawberry variety is mid-season and ripens approximately 5-6 days later than the Alba variety. The berries of this variety are characterized by an elongated, regular conical shape, deep red color with a beautiful gloss, and attractive appearance. The average fruit weight is about 23-25 grams, and the flesh is dense, deep red in color, with a pleasant sweet-tart flavor and strong aroma. Due to the dense flesh structure, the berries withstand transportation well and have excellent storability, making this variety attractive for both fresh consumption and processing, including freezing, puree production, and fruit fillings for yogurt, while maintaining vibrant color and aroma. Plants of the NF 137 variety are characterized by compact, medium-height bushes with large, wrinkled dark green leaves and strong flower stems. During fruiting, berries hide under leaves, which helps protect them from birds. The variety is frost-resistant and has strong immunity to several root diseases, including verticillium wilt and blossom end rot. It is also tolerant to powdery mildew and anthracnose, although it may be susceptible to angular leaf spot. These qualities make NF 137 suitable for cultivation both on garden plots and for commercial purposes, especially in fertile soils of medium acidity on sunny sites. For planting, plants grown in peat mix or containers with 4-5 leaves are used, which are recommended to be stored at 0-2°C until planting. The bushes are vigorous and resistant to common diseases, and the berries are resistant to rain and well tolerate storage. The NF 137 variety is suitable for industrial production in open ground, providing high yield and stable fruit quality, making it in demand both in the fresh produce market and for processing.
