Description
Evrika 99 is a hybrid of the cherry plum 'Sapa' and apricot 'Obilna', created as a semi-dwarf rootstock for stone fruit: plum, apricot, peach, and nectarine. Thanks to a 30–40% reduction in height, the trees reach a compact size, allowing for dense planting – up to 1000 plants per hectare.
The Evrika 99 root system is distinguished by its frost hardiness and resistance to heavy, dense, and waterlogged soils. At the same time, it does not produce suckers in the garden, which simplifies tree care. Trees grafted onto this rootstock begin bearing fruit just 2–3 years after planting and become productive.
A special advantage of Evrika 99 is its high resistance to drought and heat, which is particularly relevant in recent years. Seedling survival is higher than with standard apricot rootstocks, and tree yield doubles: fruits are larger, have a more saturated color, and tree height remains uniform throughout the garden, without the variation characteristic of seedling rootstocks.
