Biological resistance and compatibility

• Immune status: A key technical advantage of this rootstock is its robust resistance to crown gall (Agrobacterium tumefaciens), which significantly reduces nursery losses and prevents tree mortality in commercial orchards.
• Affinity: The physiological compatibility with a wide range of popular pear varieties ensures uniform orchard development. IS 2-10 facilitates efficient nutrient translocation from the root system to the scion, which directly impacts fruit quality and sizing.
• Developmental rate: Trees grafted onto this rootstock typically enter the active fruiting phase within 3–4 years of planting, enabling a faster return on investment compared to traditional vigorous rootstocks.
