PC SK 2

The PC SK 2 rootstock is a hybrid tree obtained by crossing F2 Prunus munsoniana Wight and Prunus cerasifera Ehrh. It has a spreading canopy and its growth height is at the level of an average tree, approximately 10% lower than that of nectarine. This rootstock is distinguished by high winter hardiness and drought resistance, making it particularly suitable for cultivation under limited irrigation conditions.

One of the key advantages of PC SK 2 is its high rooting ability: up to 80% of cuttings successfully sprout even without additional irrigation. This ensures a fast and reliable propagation process, as well as reduces care costs for new saplings. The rootstock also exhibits resistance to common diseases of stone fruit trees, such as clasterosporium and bacterial canker.

In agricultural practice, PC SK 2 is widely used in breeding to obtain early-fruiting and high-yielding plum combinations. When combined with the 'Stenley' variety, the tree begins bearing fruit as early as the third year after planting, and in 2017, the average yield was about 100 kg per tree. Due to these characteristics, the PC SK 2 rootstock is considered a reliable and productive choice for gardeners seeking high production efficiency of stone fruit crops.
