Description
The tea-hybrid rose variety Chatyr-Dag was created in 2009 in Crimea and named after the majestic Chatyr-Dag mountain. Bushes of this variety reach a height of about 80 cm and have an upright form with a width of up to 60 cm. Canes are sturdy, green with matte dark-green foliage, while thorns are numerous, needle-shaped, and reddish. Flowers are goblet-shaped, double, with a diameter of 10-12 cm, and are colored in a rich dark-red hue. Blooming is recurrent, starting at the end of May and continuing until the end of October, with buds opening slowly, ensuring moderate but prolonged flowering. The aroma of the flowers is weak.
The variety is characterized by high resistance to powdery mildew, rust, and black spot, as well as possessing strong heat tolerance and medium drought resistance. Due to its strong immunity and frost hardiness, the Chatyr-Dag rose is undemanding in cultivation and suitable for various climatic conditions, including the North Caucasus region. The plant is shade-tolerant, which expands its planting possibilities in the garden.
The tea-hybrid rose Chatyr-Dag is recommended for cutting, single and group plantings, as well as growing in flower beds. Care for the plant includes selecting a suitable plot, soil preparation, regular watering, feeding, and pruning. This variety combines decorative appeal, disease resistance, and ease of care, making it an excellent choice for gardeners seeking beautiful and long-lasting flowering.
