Chicago Peace

Chicago Peace rose is one of the best tea-hybrid varieties, bred in 1962 by the Johnston company in the USA. The bushes of this rose are strong and vigorous, reaching heights of 120 to 200 cm and widths of about 50-80 cm. The leaves are dense, leathery, dark green, with high resistance to powdery mildew and moderate resistance to black spot, providing good protection against common diseases. The variety has high cold tolerance, allowing it to be grown in various climates with moderate winters.

The flowers are large, cup-shaped, up to 14-15 cm in diameter, double, composed of 50-60 petals. The coloration is unique, featuring a harmonious blend of three shades — pink, peach, and cream — with a bright yellow base on the petals. This palette creates a stunning visual effect, especially when fully bloomed. The flowering is abundant and repeatable, lasting until the first frosts, and the flower stems exceed one meter in length, making this rose an excellent choice for cutting and bouquet arrangements.

For successful cultivation, Chicago Peace requires planting in sunny, well-lit locations, sheltered from strong winds. The soil should be fresh, nutrient-rich, and well-drained to avoid waterlogging. To maintain health and abundant flowering, it is necessary to regularly remove spent blooms and apply fertilizers. This rose is well-suited for solitary plantings, rose gardens, and various compositions, and it retains its decorative appeal well when cut.
