Description
Madame de Ker rose is a classic tea-hybrid rose, popular since the 1950s and still favored by gardeners. These rose bushes grow to a height of 80 to 120 cm and a width of about 70-90 cm; they are dense, upright, and vigorous. The leaves are dark green, dense, and glossy, giving the plant decorative appeal throughout the season. The flowers are large, with a diameter of 11 to 15 cm, double, consisting of approximately 60 petals. Their color ranges from pale pink to bright cherry-red, and the blooms hold their color well, only slightly fading with age.
The flowering of Madame de Ker rose is abundant and prolonged, beginning in June and continuing until the first frosts, sometimes until November. Flowers can appear singly or in clusters of 1-4. The fragrance is light, pleasant, and sweet, noticeable from a distance, making this variety especially attractive for garden and border landscaping. The rose suits both solitary plantings and combinations with other plants, including evergreen shrubs and lawns. It looks excellent along garden paths, alleys, and in gazebos.
This variety is distinguished by good winter hardiness, tolerating temperatures down to -23.3 °C (zone 6), as well as moderate resistance to diseases such as powdery mildew and black spot. For successful cultivation, choose sunny, warm locations protected from wind, with fertile, loose, and well-drained soil. The planting material is provided as two-year-old seedlings with closed root systems, best planted in spring or autumn.
