Hippocrate "Hippo" – a fruiting variety obtained by crossing the "Vorontsovsky 3" variety with the "1-6-3" form of wrinkled rosehip. The developer is V.D. The variety's bush is characterized by medium height and a compact structure. The stems are curved and brown-red in color, while the thorns at the base of the branches are thin. The berries are large, weighing up to 3.3 g, have an elongated shape, and an orange hue. The fruit has a weakly sour taste, making it versatile for use in the food industry as well as in folk medicine.
The variety is distinguished by high winter hardiness and disease resistance, while the yield remains moderate. The berries contain 2800 mg% of vitamin C, making them a valuable source of antioxidants. "Hippo" is self-sterile, so no other varieties are needed for pollination when cultivating it.
