Alatir

Alatir — this is a new high-yielding winter rye variety with a short stem, distinguished by high resistance to lodging and a broad spectrum of fungal diseases. Plants reach a height of up to 120 cm, possess a thick and strong stem with very high leafiness, as well as a robust fibrous root system penetrating to a depth of up to 1.7 meters. The ear is long and dense, containing 68 to 76 florets and 70–72 grains, ensuring high grain size and a thousand-grain weight exceeding 54 grams. The vegetation period is approximately 278 days, and the maturity group is medium. The variety demonstrates high drought resistance and adaptability to various cultivation technologies, including No-till, Strip-till, minimal, and conventional tillage. The recommended seeding rate varies depending on sowing dates: from 2.3 to 3.5 million seeds per hectare, with a sowing depth of 4 to 6 cm. Alatir positively responds to high rates of mineral fertilizers, promoting maximum yield under intensive cultivation. Grain yield can reach up to 9.5 tons per hectare, while green mass yield exceeds 53 tons per hectare. The variety exhibits high winter hardiness (9 points) and resistance to major rye diseases, including fusarium, powdery mildew, brown and stripe rust, rhiinosporyosis, and ergot. Protein content in grain reaches 11.6%, and falling number exceeds 245 seconds, indicating high grain quality suitable for food use and animal feeding. Grain density is approximately 280 g/L, confirming its large size and density.
