SARATOVSKAYA 6 is a winter rye variety developed in the Saratov region and included in the State Register of Breeding Achievements. It is designed for cultivation in various climatic conditions, including the North Caucasus, Middle Volga, Lower Volga, and Ural regions. The variety is characterized by high winter hardiness and drought tolerance, making it a reliable choice for crop rotation under complex natural conditions.
Rye SARATOVSKAYA 6 features a short stem that is not prone to lodging and has good disease resistance. It is moderately resistant to powdery mildew but more susceptible to brown and stem rust, as well as snow mold. The mass of 1000 grains varies from 32 to 50 grams, indicating good grain quality. Additionally, the variety has good baking qualities corresponding to the standard Saratov 5.
The yield of the SARATOVSKAYA 6 variety is quite high and varies depending on the region. In the Middle Volga region, it is approximately 42.3 centners per hectare, in the Lower Volga region — 36.4 centners, and maximum indicators reach 67.4 centners per hectare in the Republic of Tatarstan.
