TALOVSKAYA 15

Talevskaya 15 winter rye is a medium-maturing grain cultivar created by multiple family-group selection from the Talevskaya 12 variety. This variety belongs to diploid forms of the vulgare subspecies and is characterized by a medium-length and density spindle-shaped white ear. The glume is lanceolate with awn-like appendages, while the awns are coarse and of medium length. The grain is semi-elongated, light green in color, with a 1000-grain weight ranging from 20.5 to 37.6 grams, close to the standard variety indicators. Plant height varies from 57 to 136 cm, and the vegetative period is from 284 to 335 days, corresponding to the average maturation period.

The Talevskaya 15 variety is distinguished by high yield and good uniformity of stem productivity. According to trial data in various regions, yield exceeded the Talevskaya 12 standard by 1.4-5.6 c/ha, reaching up to 50.4 c/ha in some regions. The variety's winter hardiness is above average, and resistance to lodging varies from above-average to high. Regarding grain quality, protein content is 10-14%, bread volume from 100 g of flour reaches 370 ml, and falling number is in the range of 74-233 seconds, indicating good baking quality.

The Talevskaya 15 variety has a medium degree of infection by snow mold, brown and stem rust, and powdery mildew. Damage from winter and Swedish flies is at standard levels. Rye is recommended for cultivation in the Central, Central Black Earth, and North Caucasus regions, as well as in a number of regions and republics of Russia, confirming its adaptability and reliability in various climatic conditions.
