ISHINSKOE

Sorghum variety Ishinskoe is a high-quality grain crop intended for cultivation in various climatic conditions, including regions of Russia and Ukraine. This medium-early or early-maturing variety has a growing period of 95 to 140 days, depending on the region and growing conditions. Plants are 60 to 200 cm tall, single-stemmed, with well-aligned panicles, which facilitates mechanized sowing and harvesting. The mass of 1000 grains ranges from 26.7 to 32.1 grams; the grain can be red or white in color. The variety is resistant to lodging, drought, and diseases, ensuring stable yield and high grain quality. Ishinskoe sorghum is widely used as a grain crop and for silage production, and is suitable for producing grain fodder. Due to the early death of leaf-stem mass, grain can be harvested with low moisture, which improves quality and reduces drying costs. The variety is characterized by high yield: in the Central Black Earth region, average yield reaches 27.2 centners/ha, in the Middle Volga region — 23.1 centners/ha, and maximum indicators reach up to 52.8 centners/ha. High resistance to grassy stem borer and other pests further enhances cultivation reliability. The product of the Ishinskoe variety has high fodder value and can be used in the food industry for producing cereal, flour, and starch. In addition, the grain of this sorghum differs by its high alcohol yield, making it promising for use in bioenergy.
