Description
Sorghum variety Odessa 25 is a high-yielding grain variety intended for mechanized harvesting and cultivation as grain or silage. The vegetation period is approximately 110 days, ensuring timely crop maturity. The plant is low-growing, 120-125 cm tall, with thick stems of 25-30 mm in diameter and no branching. Leaves are broad with dark-gray veins, and the panicle is erect, 10-12 cm long. Grains are large, red, partially open, with a 1000-grain weight ranging from 24 to 30 grams. The average yield of the variety is 33-39 centners per hectare, with potential up to 75 centners per hectare. The grain has high nutritional content: 13.5-13.6% protein, 69-71% starch, and 3.0-3.1% fat. The milling yield reaches 80-85%, making the variety attractive for food industry and livestock feed. Seeds of the variety are white and require application of mineral fertilizers to achieve maximum productivity. Odessa 25 is characterized by high resistance to major diseases such as rust and bacterial blight, as well as drought and temperature fluctuations. Additionally, the variety is resistant to lodging, which helps preserve yield under adverse weather conditions. These characteristics make sorghum Odessa 25 a reliable choice for intensive farming in various climatic zones.
