Sunflower Basco ST is an early-maturing hybrid specifically developed for cultivation in hot and dry conditions, as well as adapted to various climatic zones. It is characterized by high and stable yield with high oil content, reaching 49-50%. The vegetation period ranges from 102 to 110 days, with early flowering occurring after 63-68 days. Plants have medium height from 145 to 165 cm, and flower head diameter varies from 19 to 23 cm, with semi-tilted orientation. Kernel test weight is 370-400 g/L, and 1000-seed mass is approximately 70 g. Hybrid Basco ST exhibits high tolerance to downy mildew (6 ratings A-F) and resistance to bird damage, significantly reducing the risk of yield loss. It has high drought resistance (rating 9) and resistance to shattering, making it a reliable choice for steppe regions. Recommended planting density depends on moisture conditions: 50-55 thousand plants per hectare under insufficient moisture, up to 60-65 thousand under adequate moisture. Cultivation technology is conventional, and seeds are treated with Cruiser, Maxim XL, and Vitazim, providing additional protection against diseases and pests. Basco ST is suitable for use in various agroclimatic conditions, including both dry and humid regions. Due to its resistance to diseases and pests, this hybrid allows reducing input costs for agronomic practices while ensuring high-quality yield.
