Description
Sunflower Layla is a hybrid of French selection intended for cultivation using classical technology. This hybrid is characterized by high stability and crop quality, as well as a high seed yield potential. Layla has good oil content indicators, making it attractive for oil production.
Genetic resistance to dodder and downy mildew is one of the key advantages of the hybrid. Layla demonstrates resistance to dodder races from A to F, which allows obtaining stable yields even in areas with a high level of infection without the need to apply additional protective measures, such as Eurolining. Moreover, the hybrid has high drought resistance and plasticity, which ensures its adaptation to various climatic conditions.
The optimal maturation period for Layla is 105-110 days, while the maximum yield can reach about 53 c/ha in favorable conditions. In drier regions, the expected yield is 25-27 c/ha. Recommended growing zones include the Forest Steppe and Steppe of Ukraine, especially the southeastern areas, such as Zaporizhzhia, Odesa, Dnipropetrovsk, Donetsk, Kherson, Mykolaiv, and Kirovohrad. To achieve the best results, it is important to observe the optimal planting density: 55,000 plants per hectare for the southeastern regions and 60-65,000 for the central and northwestern zones.
