Taunus F1 table beet is a medium-maturing cylindrical hybrid developed by the Dutch breeding company Bejo Zaden. The vegetative period is approximately 110-120 days, allowing the hybrid to successfully grow in warm soil with moderate watering. The plant features a compact leaf rosette and short root neck, facilitating easy harvesting and high product quality. The beet is resistant to leaf mass virus diseases and is not prone to bolting, enhancing yield stability.

The roots are cylindrical with a smooth surface and deep burgundy coloration, free of light radial rings and fibers. The flesh has high sugar content — about 9% sugar and 11% dry matter — making the beet sweet and juicy. Thanks to these qualities, Taunus F1 is ideal for both fresh consumption and processing, including juice production. The beet retains its flavor and color after thermal processing and long-term storage, making it a versatile product for various culinary purposes.

The Taunus F1 hybrid exhibits high yield potential — from 3.5 to 6 kg per square meter, with up to 98% marketable yield. It is suitable for cultivation both on a commercial scale and on home plots, adapting well to various soil types. For optimal growth, phosphorus-potassium fertilizers are recommended, promoting root development and improving crop quality.
