Why «Amber» by Clause is the Go-To for the Premium Market

When working with premium-class tomatoes, the main challenge is finding the right balance between appearance and fruit weight. «Amber» from French breeders Clause pleasantly surprised us with its predictability. This is a case where the hybrid does not require excessive effort in the greenhouse: it consistently produces fruit weighing 200 grams or more, which is an excellent result for its cuboid-cylindrical shape. We grew it over two production cycles, and the key observation from our agronomist was the firm skin, which does not burn or crack even during humidity fluctuations.

Handling and Harvesting

For operations, the crucial moment is cluster formation. The fruit is dense, heavy, and has perfect geometry. Due to its specific shape, it is easy to pack into standard crates: void space is minimal, and logistical losses during transport are close to zero. The maturation period of up to 90 days allows for efficient production scheduling.

Color Palette and Market Potential

The uniqueness of this hybrid lies in its color range. The combination of yellow, orange, and pink pigments makes it a highly desired item for the restaurant sector and health food store shelves. The taste is rich, without the «plastic» aftertaste common in many large-fruited hybrids.
