Description
The tomato variety BAKTEMIR is a mid-early salad-type variety developed by the All-Russian Research Institute of Irrigated Vegetable and Melon Cultivation. The plants are determinate, bushy, medium-height, reaching 44–51 cm. Leaves are large, dark green, potato-like, and inflorescences are simple and compact. Fruit ripening occurs on day 121–123 after full emergence, allowing for harvest within relatively short periods. The BAKTEMIR tomato fruits are round, smooth, red, weighing 64–81 grams. They have good storability and resistance to cracking, significantly facilitating storage and transport. The number of locules in the fruits is 4–5, and yield reaches 3.5–7.3 kg per square meter, equivalent to 347–729 centners per hectare. Due to these characteristics, this variety is valued both for home cultivation and commercial production. The BAKTEMIR variety is recommended for open-field cultivation and suitable for planting in spring or under winter cover. It exhibits increased resistance to adverse conditions and certain diseases, including phytophthora, septoria, and macrosporiosis, although susceptibility to these diseases is higher than average. Due to its low maintenance requirements and excellent taste, this tomato is ideal for novice gardeners and those who value reliable and high-yielding varieties.
