Mitriddat F1

F1 Hybrid Mitriddat — with indeterminate growth type. Registered in the State Register of Selection Achievements approved for use in Russia in 2006, it is an improved analog of the popular F1 hybrid Evpatoriya. The new hybrid exhibits a determinate growth type, though less pronounced than in F1 Evpatoriya. Suitable for cultivation in winter-spring and extended cycles of glass and plastic greenhouses, both as low-volume hydroponics and on soil. The first flower cluster forms relatively early — after the 8th-10th leaf, subsequent clusters form every 3 leaves. Leaves are slightly pubescent, medium-sized, dark green, slightly drooping in the middle part of the plant. Internodes are short, making F1 Mitriddat attractive for cultivation in older greenhouses with low trellising, as plants require half as many supports as other hybrids under similar conditions. The inflorescence is short, simple, with 4-6 fruits, arising from the stem at a right angle without bending, which promotes even ripening of all fruits in the cluster. Fruits ripen uniformly and are nearly uniform in size. Average fruit weight is 140-160 g, sometimes more depending on the cycle and type of cultivation structure. Fruits are flat-round in shape (index 0.7-0.8), 4-6-chambered, dense, strong, slightly ribbed. F1 Mitriddat does not contain the rin gene in its genotype, so its fruits do not retain market quality as long as those of F1 Dobrunya, but they nevertheless easily withstand transportation and can be stored for 13-15 days. Immature fruits have a uniform light green color, turning bright red upon ripening. Since F1 Mitriddat is a determinate-type hybrid, vegetative processes in the plant may weaken after fruiting on the 9th-11th flower clusters. Growers should carefully monitor plant development and promptly adjust mineral nutrition regimes.
