Obereg

Tomato Obereg is a determinate, low-growing variety with a compact plant height of 60 to 75 cm. The plant features dark green, medium-sized, unopened leaves and forms up to 20 flower clusters per plant. Due to its compactness and moderate growth, this variety is suitable for cultivation both in open ground and indoors, including balconies and loggias. Staking is recommended for support, although pruning is not necessary.

The fruits of tomato Obereg have a plum-like, slightly elongated shape with slight ribbing and smooth skin. Their color ranges from yellow to yellow-orange, with a weight of 60 to 100 grams. The flesh is juicy, sweet, and aromatic, making them suitable for fresh consumption as well as for pickling and canning. The tomatoes possess excellent flavor and firm walls, which contribute to good preservation during processing.

This is a mid-season variety, with a maturity period of 95 to 110 days after emergence of the first seedlings. Obereg is characterized by high yield, forming up to 20 fruits per cluster, making it attractive to gardeners. The plant shows good resistance to diseases, particularly to phytophthora, although in some cases, symptoms of this disease may occur. The high fruit attachment allows successful cultivation even under extreme conditions.
