Description
The plant is indeterminate, vigorous, with a main stem length up to 2 meters. The first flower cluster forms above the 6th-7th leaf, and subsequent clusters appear every 3 leaves. Each cluster can bear up to 5 heavy fruits weighing over 600 g, and with proper fruit set management, fruits weighing over 1 kg can be obtained. The green spot at the peduncle fully ripens, indicating good fruit quality. Leaves are green with a semi-upright arrangement, and inflorescences are complex.
This variety is recommended for cultivation in protected soil, although in southern and European regions of Russia it grows successfully in open ground with mandatory staking. Marketable yield in protected soil reaches 15.9 kg/m2 with a fruit harvest rate of 93%. Red Tortoise is ideal for home use and fresh consumption due to its high quality and flavor characteristics.
