ATAMAN PLATOV

The winter triticale variety «Ataman Platov» represents a high-yielding and resilient crop created for grain production. The plant has medium height with a stem height ranging from 70 to 95 cm, is resistant to lodging, and has high winter hardiness. The spike is long, white, of medium density, fully awned, with short awns above the tip. The grain is elongated-oval, light red in color, with a mass of 1000 grains ranging from 43.5 to 46.9 g. The average protein content in the grain is about 8.7%, while starch content ranges from 63.8% to 68.3%, ensuring a good volumetric bread yield – from 680 to 800 cm³.

The variety is characterized by high resistance to a wide range of diseases, including root rots, rusts, powdery mildew, septoria, fusarium of the spike, as well as viral dwarfism and bacterial spots. Thanks to these qualities, «Ataman Platov» demonstrates stable productivity in various climatic conditions, including the Central, Central-Black Earth, North Caucasian, and Middle Volga regions. The maximum yield recorded in the Lipetsk region reached 92.3 ц/ga, with an average yield in the specified regions ranging from 44.2 to 60.5 ц/ga.

It is recommended for use in compound feed production, as well as in the confectionery and bakery industries. The variety responds well to early spring nitrogen top-dressings and optimal sowing dates (from August 25 to September 15), which contributes to the maximum realization of its potential. High frost and heat resistance, as well as drought tolerance, make «Ataman Platov» a reliable choice for farmers seeking a stable and high-quality triticale crop.
